In 2004, the heartwarming animated Christmas movie, “The Polar Express”
was released. It has been a favorite of mine. This year, I edited a video for the theme song and added in clips of songs and some short dialogs (for context) from the movie to create an 18 minute show.
New to the show are eight RGB flood lamps, which I use to do colorful wall washes and 16 meteor drip tubes. I also added a new multi-channel light controller so that I could change the colors of the bushes
and spirals. In previous years they couldn’t change colors.
Behind the Scenes:
This year, the show is comprised of 20,000 lights, 8 multichannel light controllers (which manage 538 light channels), two lasers, meteor drip tubes, and the RGB floods. Believe it or not, the
arches take up most of the light channels as each arch requires 75 light channels. There’s six of them in the show. All of the controllers are run on two high speed LOR (Light-O-Rama) networks.
The show is controlled by a dedicated computer running LOR ShowTime 3 stage lighting software.

in the upper left corner of the frame. Both videos are 18 minutes long. Below each full length video are chapters, which you can click on to watch that portion of the video without having to try and find
it in the full length video.
